Introducing Sandra Nassima: founder of Depuravita and clean beauty lover

The first thing you notice when you meet Sandra is her powerful, gentle and welcoming aura. She is the mind and soul behind Depuravita, one of our most inspiring Muses and strongest heroines. Here's an insight into her world.

Hello Sandra and Thank you for sharing your time with us on Live Like a Heroine. First thing we'd love to know is, what led you to launch Depuravita?

A major need to change my life and giving a meaning to it. An urge for a transformation to evolve to a better person. A need to increase my awareness and my presence to understand my mission and purpose in life.

What was your health journey before you started Depuravita?

Before Depuravita I really didn’t have a clue about a real wellness or health. It was really limited to a day-spa after weeks of 24/7 working and business travels.

What does a typical day of business look like for you?

Wake up at 6 and before anything i do 2 minutes of soul talking. 30 min of high training followed by 30 min of meditation where I set the intention for the day. And the rest flows perfectly with no major issues or problems to handle. I divide my week days usually between production days at the Lab, creative days at the home office, and meeting days so I can concentrate on diverse activities.

Do you have any advice for daily wellness?

Love yourself. One needs to understand that the body is as important as the mind to connect with your your higher self. So please make sure to eat carefully: as you choose the beauty products for your skin, pay major attention what you eat. M akesure to eat organic and clean a much as possible.

What is your favorite way to pamper yourself?

Japanese bath and Hammam. I love the warm feeling of the water and the cleansing effect on my body and soul.

What is your daily beauty regimen? What is your weekly beauty regimen?

Morning: refreshing cleanse, illuminating toner, mix of 2 serums, moisturizing, oil. Before my make up, which is really no make up, I add sunscreen drops. During the day I refresh my skin with different toners (depending on my mood).
At night, I always double cleanse, - I love cleansing balm ceremony and its effect on my face. Acid toner, smoothing toner, hydrating balm and moisturizing cream. I add a lavender spray to my cushion and use a calming balm on my wrist before night time meditation. Twice a week, I do a resurfacing mask combined with AHA serum. I use gua sha to massage along with a T bar.

How often do you Detox your body?

I do it once a month, and it looks like Heaven. I choose veggie juices from Depuravita collection and combine with tons of green raw veggies. I sleep better, I dream better, my skin becomes flawless and transparent, I feel much more energic and my mood shifts.

What supplements or vitamins do you swear by?

Vitamin C, Magnesium and Omega’s along with fermented papaya. They are my protection shield.

Which are your favorite supplements from your own line?

Absolute Shine is really very potent, I find it extremely powerful against inflammation, anti-age, skin and hair health. I do it twice a year as a cure of 3 months. Collagen chocolate is my little daily luxury.
And the new entry HEAL makes my gut so happy.

In your research for Depuravita have you come across anything that surprised you?

Many. The interaction of different ingredients is really amazing. This is why we make sure that every single product that we create respects the holistic philosophy where every single ingredient acts in synergy to create a stronger benefit.

Why probiotics and prebiotics are so important in your daily routine?

There are many benefits of probiotics in our daily routine. First of all we have to understand what they are. Prebiotics are a type of fiber that the human body cannot digest. They serve as food for probiotics, which are tiny living microorganisms, including bacteria and yeast. So when you take the mix of pre and pro biotics, you help probiotics to populate in your organism.
The community of microbes who live in our gastrointestinal known as the gut microbiota help to digest food, synthesize vitamins, fight infections. The messenger between the gut and the brain is the “happy” chemical serotonin. Serotonin is well known for its role in regulating mood, appetite and sleep. Certain types of microbes in the gut can directly stimulate the production and release of serotonin in the cells lining the colon. No wonder these little organisms in your gut can have such a great influence on the brain and therefore on mood. If your gut isn’t functioning correctly it may be that these cells aren’t able to produce the right levels of serotonin needed to balance your mood.
Probiotics can have great potential in preventing and treating the skin diseases including eczema, atopic dermatitis, acne, and allergic inflammation or in skin hypersensitivity.

If someone wanted to start incorporating supplements into their wellness regimen, where do you suggest they start?

This is a very difficult answer as each of us are different and according our structure, diet, lifestyle our organism may require different type of supplements. For sure Probiotics, Vitamin C (preferably the ones coming from a natural source such as Camu Camu, Amla, etc., Fermented Papaya cure during September and October to fight with flu. Omega 3 and Omega 6.

If you could design your ideal daily menu, what would you eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack?

Breakfast mixed season fruits, favorite are blueberries as they are very rich with antioxidants and low in sugar. Home-made granola and Greek plain yoghurt with green tea or white tea. Lunch depending my mood and season, could be a soup and salad or grilled wild salmon with vegetables, or even “pasta pomodoro”.
Dinner, which now I try not to exceed 7 pm, light salad with vegan cheese, or a soup, or vegetables. As snack I try to drink our green juices.

Do you see any healers? If so, who do you see and how often do you go?

Yes, I do, depending on when I feel the need of healing in my body. I work with different healers. Weekly I do pranic healing for myself and for the company, it looks like brushing away all the negative energies and negative thought around us. When I have major problems, I consult different healers.

Tell us one of your personal best kept beauty secrets?

I like to mix oils, balms and highlighters to create a healthy and glow effect on my face. To keep my legs always smooth and perfect I apply body scrub when I finish the shower with kessa (hammam gadget).
To make my hair brighter I wash it with apple cider vinegar once a week.

What are your travel hotel tips?

I am a designer addict, so I always go for the hotels from tablet hotels website as for me what matters more than anything is the architecture, design and function.

Last thing before bed?

Deep sleep meditation.

Any bedside beauty essentials?

Yess, I go crazy with all kind of relaxing beauty supplements. Balms, face mists, cushion sprays. And when I am really too excited about work and cannot sleep I use Depuravita’s smart sleep.

Please share with us your most healing self love rituals.

Self-love is not a Day-spa. You have to really connect with your higher self and your inner child. I red this in the spirit hacking book by shaman durek: each morning I go in front of the mirror, and I tell myself how beautiful, smart, capable, loving, caring, powerful etc etc etc I am. This is an exercise that helps you to really connect with yourself and it’s the beginning of the whole self-love process.

What is your advice to those looking to live a healthier lifestyle?

Start with one thing, I mean if you are coming from a total stressed, toxic lifestyle, even one small improvement makes a lot of difference. If you try to change all your bad habits at the same time it might never work out. Choose one, such as doing meditation, or yoga, or healthy nutrition. One step at the time.
