Spermidine — the clean-up system
A natural polyamine from wheat germ extract. Your body makes it too.
Researchers became interested when it turned out that fasting raises the body's own spermidine levels. It is the ingredient behind the theme of autophagy: clearing out and recycling.
Astaxanthin — the strongest colour in the sea
A carotenoid antioxidant from a microalga. The same compound that gives salmon and flamingos their pink colour. In laboratory research a far stronger antioxidant than vitamin C. It anchors itself across the full width of the cell membrane.
PQQ — the energy side
A vitamin-like compound found in small amounts in parsley, kiwi and green tea.
Studied for its role in the health of mitochondria, the power plants of the cell.
Vitamin E — the approved basis
A fat-soluble antioxidant with an officially authorised European claim: contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
It mainly protects the fat-rich structures of the cell, such as the cell membrane.
KEY INGREDIENTS PER DAILY DOSE (1 capsule):
• Wheat germ extract (Triticum aestivum) 500 mg, of which 1 mg spermidine.
Spermidine is a naturally occurring polyamine, present in the human body and in foods such as wheat germ, aged cheese and soy. Body levels decline with age. It is one of the most studied compounds in current research on autophagy, the process by which cells recycle their own damaged components.
• Haematococcus pluvialis extract 8 mg (astaxanthin).
Astaxanthin is the red carotenoid from microalgae that gives salmon and shrimp their colour. In laboratory research it is described as a markedly stronger antioxidant than vitamin C. Unlike most antioxidants it is both fat- and water-compatible, so it can position itself across the full width of the cell membrane.
• Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) disodium salt 20 mg.
PQQ occurs in trace amounts in foods such as fermented soy, kiwi and green tea, and is studied in relation to the mitochondria, the structures that produce the cell's energy.
• Vitamin E (DL-alpha-tocopheryl acetate) 15 mg — 125% of the reference intake.
Vitamin E contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress (authorised EU health claim).
Capsule shell: hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, with copper complexes of chlorophylls and chlorophyllins.
