Gynostemma, native to South-East Asia, has been revered for millennia for its remarkable life-extending qualities. Often referred to as the 'Herb of Immortality' in China, Jiaogulan tea is traditionally consumed to enhance energy, endurance, strength, and combat fatigue. Locals also know it as the 'poor man's ginseng' or 'southern ginseng' due to its rich content of saponins, with over 100 varieties closely related to those found in the Ginseng family. Surprisingly, Gynostemma boasts even higher saponin levels than Ginseng, making it a potent adaptogen. This wild herb has thrived in the mountains of southwestern China for thousands of years and is typically enjoyed as a tea or in soups.
