The official term for this product is hydrosol, often considered a byproduct or waste stream of the essential oil distillation industry. When a botanical undergoes distillation, the resulting product is a combination of hydrosol and essential oil. As the mixture cools, the essential oil separates and can be extracted. The remaining floral-infused waters retain identical aromatherapeutic and medicinal benefits, albeit in less concentrated amounts compared to their essential oil counterparts.
Unlike essential oils, which can be harsh for some skin types, hydrosols are safe to enjoy liberally. You can generously mist them on your entire face and body as an excellent method for hydrating the skin. All of our hydrosols are grown, picked, and distilled by hand right on the farm.
